We’re excited to offer a pop-up Campaign School in Toronto on Sunday February 16 10am - 6pm!
This program is designed to equip women, non-binary and gender diverse individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to run for political office in Canada.
We kick off the day with a Campaign Strategies Conversation - Speak with politicians about their experiences running a campaign, and learn about some strategies they deployed along the way.
We spend the rest of the morning digging deeper into topics such as:
Forming a campaign team
Creating key messages for a campaign platform
Canvassing for support
Media & mass communications
Fundraising & budgeting
After lunch, we will have a mock campaign simulation!
You'll be put into groups and will go through the motions of creating a campaign from scratch!
Get to know our special guest speakers, all who have direct experience with elections across different levels and parties.
The program comes with a comprehensive workbook (fillable PDF), including independent self-reflection activities. Please indicate in the accessibility supports section of the application if you'd like a print copy (provided day of event).
The program is multi-partisan. When elected, it is important that we collaborate across party lines to move things forward. We acknowledge the real opportunities and barriers associated with partisanship on the campaign trail. We do not associate with any particular party.
It is encouraged to bring your laptop/tablet to the session.
This in-person session is interactive. Nothing will be recorded. We strive to create a safe and brave space for all.
Program Cost:
The program fee is $75 for the full day. Don't let cost be a barrier - Financial assistance, as well as travel and childcare subsidies are available upon request! No questions asked. Please indicate interest for these items in the program registration form.
