Hello, may I please speak with (First/Last Name)______________. This is (Agent’s Name)_________ calling from Keys on behalf of the Equal Voice Foundation.
How are you today? (pause allow a response)
This is a brief but important call, <first name>. We’re reaching out to you and all of our supporters today to update you on some of our progress and achievements this year.
As you know, our mission is to achieve gender parity at all levels of Canadian politics and see an equal number of elected women and men elected to all levels of political office.
We believe that the best way to make positive change happen is to have more women and gender diverse candidates elected and working on your behalf on the issues that matter.
The last election we saw many women candidates but only 30% of women MPs were elected or re-elected.
You see, <first name>, women and gender diverse individuals face different barriers than men in politics and many extraordinary women are not encouraged enough to enter politics. For one thing, raising enough money to be nominated and run a campaign can be more challenging. For another, dealing with hostile misogynistic comments and attacks on Social Media make women reluctant to step into their rightful place at the political table.
As a multi-partisan organization, the Equal Voice Foundation is committed to improving gender representation in Canadian politics. We believe that if we want change, we need to change how we do things. And one of the best ways to create positive change is to have more women in politics.Â
I know you agree, <first name>: we ensure that ALL women from diverse backgrounds – including Indigenous women, women of colour, 2SLGBTQ+, and disabled women, are represented and have a say in the policies that affect Canadians. This is essential to building and sustaining a strong, vibrant democracy in Canada and around the world. That’s why I’m contacting you today. We need your help.
The Ask:
Your donation today will help us continue to provide unique educational opportunities for women interested in pursuing a career in politics.
Generous gifts from donors like you provide the funding needed for our essential campaign school, Daughters of the Vote program, and training and resources for women candidates.
As you may know, monthly giving is the most sustainable type of giving. It allows us to plan projects throughout the year because we can project our month over month revenue. And, for the month of December, the Hill Times has partnered with the Equal Voice Foundation to provide any new monthly donors with a 1-month trial subscription. <Name>, would you like to join us as a monthly donor?
YES: that is fantastic, which credit card would you like to use?
IF NO, Use ask ladder
IF NO TO PAC
OTG ASK: We’ve come a long way since Agnes Macphail, Canada’s first woman MP was elected in 1921, but we have a long way to go to have gender equality in politics. Would you help with a one time gift today?
Before I let you go, can I just double check that your address is still ___ and your email is still ______ (input changes) Thank you so much for your support and have a great rest of your day!
