This campaign school has already taken place.



Each session is approximately 2 hours for a total of 16 hours of learning over 4 weeks. Participants will receive a comprehensive workbook to guide them through the sessions.

This 8-session program costs $50 and bursaries are available.

What you need to do behind the scenes to get ready for a life in public office.

Session 4: Raise Your Profile
Strategies on how to build your overall network and canvassing for votes.
Speakers: Nunatsiavut First Minister Melva Williams and MLA Lesa Semmler


Session 5: Media Confidence
Define your persona and learn how to prepare for different kinds of media interviews.
Speakers: Award-winning journalist Ntawnis Piapot, Former provincial candidate Anna Thomas


Session 6: Face the Barriers
An open conversation about systemic and overt barriers, ways to cope, and why we must continue to persist.
Speakers: Premier Caroline Cochrane, Former federal candidate Racelle Kooy


Session 7: Form Your Campaign Team
Learn about different campaign team roles, personality traits and skills to look for, as well as tips on how to recruit/manage volunteers.

Session 8: Campaign Fundraising & Budgeting
How much will you need, where will you get it, and what are the rules?
Speakers: MP Lori Idlout and former provincial candidate Patricia Johnson-Castle


Sessions take place online using Zoom, in English only.

To participate, you will require access to the internet, Zoom, a microphone, and a web camera.
