Equal Voice NCR Chooses Dynamic New Executive

OTTAWA Equal Voice National Capital Region (EVNCR) Co-Chairs Raylene Lang-Dion and Etana Cain are pleased to announce the new Executive for 2011-2013.

 
The new executive board was acclaimed on June 1, 2011.
 
“It was wonderful to see so many experienced, vibrant and dedicated women put their names forward,” says Raylene Lang-Dion, returning EVNCR Co-Chair and former Equal Voice National Chair.
 
“I am particularly excited to see the diversity of our new EVNCR Board, including many young women.”
 
There was a full audience at the meeting, sponsored and hosted by TELUS.  
 
Some notable attendees included:
 
- Carolyn Bennett, MP (St. Paul’s);
- Ruth Ellen Brosseau, MP (Berthier-Maskinongé); and
- Jen Hunter, former federal candidate for Ottawa Centre and outgoing EVNCR Vice-Chair.
 
“I am very excited about what the future has in store for our chapter,” says incoming Co-Chair Etana Cain. “We have a very strong team with a renewed mandate to promote the still-bold idea that women deserve equal representation in all levels of government.”
 
The event also featured award-winning author, media educator and critic, Shari Graydon who shared some excerpts from her new book I Feel Good About My Hands.
