Paola brings extensive program management and program support experience in the not-for-profit sector. She initiated her career in philanthropy with the Advancement team at Appleby College in Oakville, Ontario. There she provided support with prospect research, moves management, proposal writing and stewardship events for their capital campaign. More recently, Paola worked at the Equality Fund – formerly known as The MATCH International Women’s Fund – as their Manager of Philanthropy, where she was responsible for overseeing the annual, monthly, leadership and major gifts programs, and played a key role on leading the operations of the organization’s fundraising program.
Fluent in English, Spanish and French, Paola has also worked for and provided program support at the Canadian Embassy in Venezuela, the then Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (now Global Affairs Canada) Citizenship and Immigration Canada and the RCMP. Paola has a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages from Universidad Metropolitana with a Minor in Business Administration, and a focus on key areas such as Political Science, Geopolitical Studies, Sociology and Caribbean Cultural Studies. Paola is passionate about gender equality, social justice and human rights and is delighted to be joining the team at Equal Voice.
