Pam Hrick

Pam is deeply committed to advocating for women’s equality and the advancement of women in public life. She would be thrilled to draw on her extensive political and legal experience to contribute to the governance and vital work of Equal Voice as a member of its board of directors.

Originally from London, Ontario, Pam received an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Ottawa and a law degree from Queen’s University. After law school, she completed clerkships at the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal. Pam is currently a lawyer at a litigation firm in Toronto. She is also an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Administrative Law Section and provides pro bono legal advice and representation to individuals through Pro Bono Ontario.

Pam has a long history of involvement in electoral politics and government, through which she has gained a broad knowledge of political and legislative processes. As Legislative Advisor to Ontario’s Attorney General, she helped manage key issues related to the Ministry, led regular briefings of the Attorney General on potential responses, and assisted in guiding various bills through the legislative process. She has been a volunteer, co-chair or election-day legal advisor on numerous leadership, nomination and general election campaigns at all levels of government. As an undergraduate student, she was also elected President of the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa.

In her personal and professional life, Pam has been actively involved in work dedicated to ending violence against women. She served as Vice-Chair of the Board of the Sexual Assault Centre Kingston and was a member of the University of Ottawa’s Task Force on Respect and Equality, which conducted extensive consultations and provided recommendations to the President about preventing and responding to sexual violence in the university community.
