Leila Moumouni – Tchouassi is a franco-West African born in Sherbrook Quebec that has lived on the unceded and unsurrendered land of the Algonquin people for 15 yrs. She has attended the university of Ottawa, for an Honours Bachelors in International Development and Globalization.
Leila Moumouni – Tchouassi has been very active in community and student organizing with a focus on creating more spaces and empowering the most marginalized. During her studies at uOttawa, Leila served two terms as VP of Philanthropic activities, sat on the Board of Administration, served as VP Equity and as the coordinator of the Racialised and Indigenous Student Experience Centre. She has also done work in community around black activism and other solidarity work.
Leila is excited to have joined the Equal voice team with the possibility of bringing more women, femme identified, trans, gender non-conforming, and gender non-binary folks into politics because they are the foundation and the backbone of our communities.
