Iman Mohamed, Project Coordinator (Community Grant)

Iman joined Equal Voice in 2019 as the community fund project coordinator working on helping young women and non-binary youth across the country with projects they have for their communities. Iman came to Canada to pursue her postsecondary studies after growing up in Djibouti. She lived in Montréal where she completed a BSc in Economics and Politics from Université de Montréal before going to Québec City to intern at the National Assembly and later work for a provincial political party. She then decided to come to Ottawa to complete a M.A in Gender and feminist studies.

This journey allowed her to gain experience in politics by taking part in different roles during several campaigns; in policy research; and in operations skills while constantly adapting herself to new environments.
