The Equal Voice Foundation is honoured to have the support of The Hilary and Galen Weston Foundation. Thanks to their generosity, we will be able to provide leadership training and campaign schools to increase women’s participation at all levels of Canadian politics.
Over 100 years since the election of the first woman Member of Parliament, women continue to be underrepresented in politics, and our research shows that the main reason for this is that women feel that they don’t have the knowledge, skills or networks to succeed in politics. Our campaign schools help change this and the generosity of The Hilary and Galen Weston Foundation will allow us to dramatically increase the number of in-person and online training sessions that we offer to women across Canada, and allow the training to be offered free of charge to participants. This will help elect more women across Canada at all levels of government in the years to come, and Canada will see the benefits for decades.
