EQUAL VOICE WELCOMES ELEANOR FAST AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
OTTAWA – Today, Equal Voice announced the appointment of Eleanor Fast as Executive Director, marking a milestone for the organization that has, since 2001, advocated for the equal representation of women in Canada’s Parliament, in provincial and territorial legislatures, and on municipal and band councils.
Eleanor brings to Equal Voice 15 years of diverse experience in policy, stakeholder relations, and in leading not-for-profit organizations, most notably at the helm of Nature Canada. She also has lived experience as a women candidate.
“I am thrilled to be joining the dynamic Equal Voice team” said Eleanor Fast. “Increasing the number of women seeking, and being elected to, political office in Canada is critical, and I am excited to work with the vibrant Equal Voice network across Canada to make it happen."
Eleanor will build on the impressive legacy of Nancy Peckford. After over a decade of dedicated service to Equal Voice, Nancy led by example and succeeded in her run as Mayor of North Grenville. Equal Voice wishes her all the best in this next phase of her political career and is grateful for her contributions during her time as Executive Director.
“Equal Voice extends our thanks and appreciation to Nancy Peckford for her years of dedicated leadership of Equal Voice. Nancy has built an incredible legacy over the last 10 years for the organization,” said Nicole Foster, National Chair of Equal Voice. “Today, we are thrilled to welcome Eleanor Fast as the new Executive Director of Equal Voice. Eleanor is strongly committed to Equal Voice’s mission of electing more women to all levels of political office in Canada and will be a strong and natural advocate for our cause.”
