Dr. Lovas is a legal professional, certified mediator, coach and a diversity and inclusion consultant. Dr. Lovas attained her doctorate in law at Debrecen University, School of Law (Hungary). From 2006 to 2012, Dr. Lovas was a practicing layer with direct responsibilities for family and criminal litigation. She also worked as a legal aid lawyer and pro bono legal adviser at the Centre for Protection of Families and Children (CPFC) in Hungary.
Dr. Lovas moved to Canada in 2012 with her husband and two young children and completed a master's degree in Gender Studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN).
Her studies have furthered her keen interest in women and gender related objectives by corporate businesses and led her to become a diversity and inclusion specialist. She then went on to work for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador as a policy and program development specialist for four years, advising ministers and senior officials on issues like equal pay and the economic empowerment of women.
Working at the Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women NL, Dr. Lovas was involved with the organization of the 2017 NL Daughters of the Vote event as well as the organization of the celebration of female candidates in the 2017 Municipal elections in St. John's Metropolitan area.
Dr. Lovas currently serves as a Governor on the Board of the Newfoundland and Labrador Law Foundation.
After Dr. Lovas became a certified mediator, she started her own business, Judit Lovas Coaching and Consulting, based in St. John's, Newfoundland.
