Named one of the Women's Executive Network Top 100 Powerful Women in Canada in 2014, Nancy was born and raised in a highly political family in Newfoundland and Labrador. After living in a variety of rural, urban and northern communities, she attended Smith College in Northampton, Mass. and subsequently completed a Masters degree on the formation of women's political interests in Canada at Memorial University.
Since coming to Ottawa, she has served a as Canadian Parliamentary Intern in a non-partisan capacity with MPs from both sides of the aisle - in addition to holding senior staff positions with several key non-governmental and labour organizations, including the Union of Solicitor General - and as Equal Voice's Executive Director and National Spokesperson.
A mother to three young children a Nancy has had the opportunity to work on a number of political campaigns from the nomination up. She is encouraged by every women who seeks to put her name on the ballot - and highly encouraged by the many more women and men who rally behind them.
