Scott Thurlow

 

 

W. Scott Thurlow, a lawyer, was called to the bar of Ontario in 2003. From 2012-2014, he served as the President of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association (CRFA), where he represented the interests of the producers of Ethanol and Renewable Diesel in Canada. He currently serves as counsel to over 25 clients on regulatory matters and policies pertaining to government ethics and lobbying rules.

 

Mr. Thurlow served as the Director of Parliamentary Affairs for the Minister of Natural Resources in 2005. In addition to preparing the Minister and Parliamentary Secretary for Question Period and Parliamentary debates, Scott was responsible for the Atlantic desk in the Minister’s office.  

 

Scott attended Carleton University (1993-97) for his undergraduate degree, Western for his Masters in Political Science, and attended the University of Ottawa for his law degree.

 

Scott served as the chapter co-chair for Equal Voice- NCR since January of 2015. He has previously served as a board member for Carefor (2009-2012), Biotalent Canada (2014) and the Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC) (2012-present). Scott currently serves as the co-chair of GRIC’s legislative affairs committee.

 

Scott is the proud father of two daughters, both of whom are under the age of two. Together with his wife Maureen, a partner at a national law firm, Scott is committed to seeing his girls (Kay and Rose) grow up in a society that is as inclusive as possible. Scott, a life long Ottawa resident, is working to ensure Kay and Rose have the same opportunities to succeed he had growing up.
