Candidate - Director-at-large
My name is Ally, and I’m the Director of Government and University Relations at the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), where I work to advance the public policy interests of Canada’s Jewish community through outreach to elected officials and political staff in Ottawa. Before joining CIJA, I worked in communications for a federal political party and on Parliament Hill.
I hold a Master's degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa, and an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Calgary. I’m passionate about mentoring youth, women in politics (surprise!), social progressivism and my dog, Laurier. I’m standing for election to the Equal Voice Board because the best part of my career in Ottawa has been supporting fantastic elected women, as well as mentoring young women entering politics for the first time – and I want to spend more of my time doing it with the organization that does it best. As a senior government relations professional, I also hope to add my experience in advocacy to this incredible team so we can make sure more women are elected to welcoming spaces than ever before.
