Founding Meeting - BC Chapter

The BC Chapter was launched on Sept.27, 2004 - we were thrilled to see over 50 women and men attend! And for those who weren't able to attend, thanks for your messages of support. What a pleasure at the launch to share in the presence of a Canadian icon - Doris Anderson - and to be in the company< of accomplished women and men like you.

Thanks to all of you who have or are becoming members. Welcome!

Looking forward, the goal of Equal Voice BC is to get more women elected to political office using the power of ulti-partisan advocacy.

No doubt, there are any number of ways to see more women elected to office:

• Some of us are interested in focusing on electoral reform and the work of the BC Citizens Assembly.
• Some of us are seeking to bring multi-partisan pressure to bear on political parties to find and run more women candidates.
• Others are interested in working with the media to build awareness and legitimacy around the issue of women's under-representation.
• And some of us are passionate about getting more women elected by reaching out to women in communities, in the world of work, and in marginalized conditions.
